An old Roman apartment, previously organised around a dark corridor, has been completely transformed into a large and light space, which generates wide and interesting perspectives by emphasizing the structure of the existing column.
Details
The red color is used to connect the different functional areas and to give a strong character to the day area.
Overview
The gaze flows without interruption, following the red beams and columns, while defining the entire loft. The kitchen follows the same concept; it incorporates the existing structure and creates a strong combination between architecture and furniture design. The master bedroom has been separated from the day area through a “double skin” partition that contains the closets.
The apartment has two bathrooms: the guest bathroom and the grey bathroom. The guest bathroom uses the irregular shape and structure of the building to create a modern and industrial flair. The master bathroom suggests a more intimate and private feeling through the use of cosy shapes and colors. The choice of materials creates a contrast between warm colors and textures and an industrial look. The result is a minimal but warm space that doesn’t allow useless decoration.
